Adventures in Knitting: Easy Fingerless Mitts

Mar 07, 2015 22:51

While I haven't technically finished my scarf (stupid blocking), I am through with the knitting so I was left with some leftover yarn. Quite a bit, in fact. Since I wanted to learn how to knit in the round, I decided to make some fingerless mitts with the leftover yarn. I have to say, I love knitting in the round. I managed to make this in just two days:

One mitt down, one mitt to go! I just need to weave in the ends on this and I can start on the second mitt. I went with this pattern because it uses the same weight of yarn as my scarf and the pattern is geared towards beginners like me. The lady also has a video tutorial, so I wasn't just reading words on a page. These will also come in handy at work. It's kind of cold in my corner of the office, so I could wear the mitts to keep my hands warm and still be able to type.

I have to say, knitting is quite satisfying, especially when the projects aren't as involved as a scarf. Here's something I made, with my own hands; I didn't buy it in a store.

Next up: baby leg warmers and a matching hat for my friend who's expecting in August.
