A/N: I’ve been working on this for the past few weeks and thank heavens I’ve finally whipped something orz..This is my first fanfic ever,so I would like to see what you guys think :D This is still a rough draft,so if enough positive feedback turns up,I might consider in making it into a series *dun dun dun*
p.s. hope it’s not too long/boring! >__<
The phrase: feels like I’ve known you all my life was what shot through Jaejoong’s mind that day. He was working as a part-time worker at a supermarket, listlessly arranging ramyeon packages as he heard the automatic doors slide open when the regular of the store made his daily entrance: a tall and handsome prosecutor with his usual clean cut, auburn hair and impeccable posture, stride in beaming at the ahjummas that enthusiastically waited on him.
Jung Yunho..just my luck.
But no matter how much Jaejoong looked up to the prosecutor,he would rather play the stand-offish card for he apparently felt out of his league. Yunho was one of the most, on top of being the youngest, respected prosecutors in the country’s criminal justice system.Jaejoong,on the other hand, was a nobody.A part-time student who prefers to live alone and who breaks a sweat, daily, just to make end’s meet. And being the introvert that he is,associating with someone as wealthy as Yunho would only make Jaejoong appear in the spot light. One of the main reasons for moving into the big city was so no one can notice him, and he wanted to keep it that way.
Please don’t come into this aisle.. I always act like a nervous wreck in front of you anyway. The agitated worker thought as he glanced at the handsome customer exchange a few words with the other employees.
Until out of the blue:
“Jaejoong!” shouted the fine customer, waving as he strode down the aisle. All but making Jaejoong freeze at the sound of his honey-like voice.
“Oh gawd, what should I do?” Jaejoong desperately whispered.
At this point, the cornered man had to think fast. So he immediately stuffed the remaining packages into the shelves, shot up,and began power walking out of the aisle.
Gotta pretend I didn’t hear him.. nor see him.. geez, look at yourself,Jae..you’re such a coward! Such
were Jaejoong’s thoughts till he saw a flash of navy silk as he bumped into a stiff chest.A subtle wave of lavender crept through his senses, and instantly he knew he was caught.
“There you are!” said the very man Jaejoong tried avoiding. It seems Yunho was quicker than he expected.
“Always the same ol’ Jae..you know I’ll always find you! Better luck next time, you dork,” Yunho chuckled.“Anyway, you seem out of breath there..Sorry if I scared you..again.”
“Just busy is all.Besides,y-you don’t scare me..”
“Hm?” Yunho mumbled as he tilted his head inquisitively.
“Oh! It’s nothing..um,was there something you needed?” Jaejoong muttered, giving an embarrassed smile. Nice going,Jae..
“Well,not really.I’m just wondering,since I’m on my lunch break,if you’d like to join me?”
Oh dear.. again? Why does he insist on eating with me? Besides, what is so special about me that would warrant another invite from Mr.Filthy-Rich-Handsome-Prosecutor? Then again..what if he’s just playing with my head? Pity game, maybe?
“Hello? Earth to Jaejoong? There you go with your blank face again” Yunho stated, breaking Jaejoong’s mental debate. “Have you eaten yet?”
“I’m not hungry.I think I should,um,get to work like, mop or something” Jaejoong replied with an unconvincing, clutched voice.
“But it’s against the law to go passed your fifth hour.” Yunho affirmed, with subtle victory growing on his face.
“Really,Yunho,I’ll be fine.I’m too busy with-”
“-AHJUMMA! Can you take over Jaejoong’s shift? He needs to go on his break!”
Yunho wouldn’t have another excuse.
“SURE! Go take that scrawny boy away from here-kidnap him if you have to!” agreed Jaejoong’s supervisor.
Really now?!
“You heard her.” Yunho said,smirking.
“…I’m bringing my own lunch next time I’ll have you know.” Jaejoong said as he finished grabbing his coat.
“Fine with me,you’ll still be joining me.”
*****
As they crossed the street on their way back,Jaejoong initiated the conversation, hoping to get to the bottom of things.
“Yunho..you hardly even know me.Plus,I barely even speak! I’m sure a dog would provide better company.” Jaejoong wanted to understand the other man’s intentions, but wasn’t sure if he was being too suspicious,or if he should give him the benefit of the doubt.
“Ah! Look,Jaejoongie-oops,Jaejoong. They are going to have a karaoke contest this Friday! We should so go! I’m sure we can invite some people, too!” Yunho said excitedly, purposely diverting from Jaejoong’s usual banter.
THIS is the same guy that helped overturn that one decade-old homocide case that nobody could solve?
“Count me out. I have so much chores to do this weekend anyway,so you should go have fun with your close friends or girlfriends or whatever.” Jaejoong grumbled as he waited in line for the bus home.
“Aw,we’ll see then.Be safe on the way home.Oh! and don’t be grabbing other people’s butts now!” Yunho shouted as his lunch buddy stepped into the bus. Judging from Jaejoong’s widened eyes,Yunho could tell the former was giving him mental insults.
As the bus drove away,Yunho peered at it with a stern face.
“No,you have it all wrong. You know me better than anyone else. And none other than your leader would know otherwise...
..Right,Youngwoong Jaejoong?”
