So early last week I posted these customers_suck. . .
Stupid stupid kids
I work in a mall based toy store in an more or less upscale part of town but close enough to everyone else that we get all kinds. My customers tend to be rich and stupid or dirt poor and stupid. The few bright ones are a refreshing change. . .
So today just before I was getting ready to leave work these two teenage boys came in to return an earlier purchase. No problem. They had purchased three of this new collectible thing where you chip away at a chalk rock until it reveals the collectible skull inside. We keep these on the impulse counter at the register and sell quite a few. Today however was the first time I'd had anyone try to return them.
[Stupid Kid 1]: These suck we'd like to return them.
[Me]: Okay but I can't take back the opened one.
[SK2]: Why? They're awful!
[SK1](holds up HALF of the fist sized chalk rock): I tried to finish it but it was nasty. . .
[Me]: Those are CHALK. You dig out the skull and collect them.
[SK 1&2]: Oh
[SK1]: but no one told me it wasn't candy I should get all my money back. . .
Needless to say they only got the money back for the unopened ones. I can understand the mistake they made in buying the toy (it was on the impulse counter where we sell some toys but lots of candy products)but they continued eating it after the first bitter bite. Yuck.
Stupid Stupid Kids (Update)
So yesterday I posted a short story about two teenagers who bought these buried skulls things. . .collectible skulls, buried in chalk and one of the kids ate half of one thinking it was candy. Anyway I left out part of the story yesterday that seemed pointless. In addition to the basic collectible quality of the skulls there are 500 crystal wizard skulls that you can send in for a years supply of sour patch kids candy. . .
When these two kids came back to return the "bad candy" the one who had been eating the chalk tossed his recovered skull into one of the boxes on the counter and said "you can keep this too." Guess which ultra rare skull it turned out to be when we found it this morning. . .
Here's to a years worth of Sour Patch Kids on the Stupid stupid kids. I love irony.
