So this weekend was AMAZING! Thursday night, Katie and I went to Greenville and had dinner with my parents and brother. Also went to the mall to buy a Billy Idol cd and new shoes with my birthday money, and took my first (legal) trip to the liquor store. Came home and had a last minute small party. Wasn't planned, everyone just started calling and our response was "hey, come on over!" It turned into a very late night and I missed class Friday morning.

Friday, feeling slightly hung over, Katie and I went to McDonalds to get Happy Meals since they now come with artlist "The Dog" toys. We laid around and watched Good Boy! and then got ready to head to Spartanburg to see Throttlerod. This was a new experience. They were the only rock band amongst some hardcore scream music. I hated all of the other bands that played, but had fun during Throttlerod's show. We hung out after the show a bit and had fun. This included a birthday shot with Matt (lead vocal/guitar for Throttlerod), dodging a puking girl in the bathroom, making fun of the guy from the headlining band who wore his own band's shirt while performing, and convincing Matt and Chris (bass/vocal) that I didn't hate them after a misunderstanding last time I saw them! Katie, Kevin (I know I've talked about him before...but just incase, drums for T-rod, and Katie's boyfriend), and I headed back to Greenwood.

Saturday we ordered pizza, watched Not Another Teen Movie, went to Katie's parents lake front property, and then headed to Columbia for another Throttlerod show. Now, they are usually quite good, but I believe this may have been the best show I've seen yet. Maybe it's because I had a few drinks before they played, but I think it's just because they ROCKED. Complete with having the crowd finish out a song, and being demanded an encore. I bought myself another Throttlerod shirt, and I am currently wearing it quite proudly. We stayed in Columbia that night with one of their friends who used to be in the band. This included a trip to Waffle House when a pickle was flung onto my head. It was funny and not funny at the same time.

Sunday we got up and took our nasty selves to lunch. Kevin was the only one who showered. Kevin was too good to be dirty like the rest of us. Lunch left me wanting to rent the movie Top Secret which I may do today. The boys were talking about the movie, and I would like to understand what their fits of laughter were about. After lunch, Throttlerod headed back to Virginia, and Katie and I headed back to Greenwood. The weekend was over.

Now I'm back to the real world where I had class this morning, and I work tonight. The real world sucks, but oh well. As I told Chris when he was concerned I thought they were being obnoxious the last time I saw them, compared to them, the rest of the world is just boring. Throttlerod plays in Charlotte on the 16th and we're going. The Gods of Mars play here in Greenwood this saturday, and I'm going to that as well.
