I just sold a bike saddle on craigslist to some really, really cool guys. They were out on their porch smoking weed and drinking hot tea. They offered me a cup and we started talking about all kinds of cool shit. One guy, this huge red-bearded Viking named Eric, told me about his father's experience in Desert Shield-turned-Storm, how he fought next to the mujihadeen and did things that made him say he had "some karma laundry to do," which was a badass quote. I love meeting people like Eric, who perfectly mix manners and ruthlessness like old wizened warriors.
