Their favorite time of the year
No seriously. Since they don't have thanksgiving (yes I have class on thanksgiving), and halloween isn't very celebrated, Christmas is HUGE! They've already started with decorations ALL OVER TOWN and it is absolutely beautiful! There are people roasting chestnuts by the cathedral and selling hot wine. The Market is being set up with little wooden boxes for the vendors. And the lights! ok so they're not lit yet, but they're EVERYWHERE. I love the fact that I have to go past the cathedral every day to get to my dorm because the street I go down (Rue des Freres) is going to be beautiful. All the tiny shop owners have their christmas displays and my favorite - the russian doll shop - has beautiful ice skaters and angels and everything. There's a HUGE Christmas tree in Place Kleber, a shopping center, and they're starting to decorate it. All the houses look like gingerbread houses and when it snowed last week you could see it on top of the roofs. I wish I could show everyone pictures, but you'll have to wait until I get them developed because that person in scotland hates me.
