I went paintballing last Saturday, which is an exciting way to combine violence and redecoration. I didn't really know what to expect, but what landed in my lap was an afternoon of thrillsHere are two things to remember, if you are ever lucky enough to go ( Read more... )

Rich and soulless!! if you join me in cahoots with the devil then it might make me feel a bit better about myself.

But then, i do get to market robotic lawnmowers so i win. On all counts. I just win.

Well... the devil does know how to rock it, I guess.

Also, a robotic lawnmower might just be the single most exciting thing I've heard this entire week. What does it do with the clippings - turn them into fuel-efficient grass-cars? Does it mow the lawn into a symbol for robotic rebellion, in the hope that planes passing overhead see it and throw off the shackles of their human masters?

You definitely, definitely win.

I have just posted about it. I just really hope they aren't secretly putting A.I chips into them. Fucking robots and blades? NO NO NO!

you wrote that like you've not updated since last week, when in fact, your last update was in sep last year!

i went paintballing and kicked ass. i claimed the flag in 2 of the 3 games. i also got hit on my ear, which knacked.

I considered writing a brief summary of what I've been doing since my last update, but it'd just have been a self-absorbed tract on my eating habits or something, so I elected to dismiss. I'm going to try and update more regularly, though!

We lost pretty hard, but on the plus side, I definitely got to shoot my friends in their faces. That's the kind of treat you only normally get in civil war!

did you find that when you first start playing you're shooting at anything and evething - then you realise how much more paintballs are and start to conserve your ammo?

More-or-less the exact opposite! I was really conservative and stealth-style early on, but as I grew more frustrated with being shot and not shooting other people much, I damned the cost and went trigger-ecstatic.

Your way sounds much more sensible, though.

tomnashtomnastomnash. hii. i HATED paintballing. i went with ashley and jamie et al a couple of years ago and it was the biggest waste of money ever, and our team had either never played, or only played once, and the other team were fucking.. marine commandos or something, like actually blokes called rambo, so we just got pulvarised in every game. ohhh and im wearing like.. body armour on my chest and stomach and a helmet/mask combo like you do, but every time i got shot it was on my NECK or my FINGER or that bit of skin roughly where your hips are, a millimetre below where the armour stops and some other absurd places, and they had TESCO VALUE HOT CHOCOLATE ohh and then i had to work a whole shift at the traveller's rest and DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO SHOWER. paintballing is rubbish.

We got pretty much smashed in the face, because the other team had army boys on it. But the score was still 6 points to 3 at the end, I think, so I'm going to pat myself on the back and have a strawberry milkshake.

That sounds like a bloody rubbish day, though. Was it the Heath & Reach one?

I didn't sample the hot chocolate. The guys were really weird and full of innuendo, so I didn't want to put anything liquid in my mouth that they had made. x
