Choose one of my fics and give me a timestamp - e.g. two weeks before or five years later - and I'll write you a commentfic telling you what happened.
My fic masterlist can be found
here. If and when I ever get more fic on it, I'll probably do this again (depending on the turnout). I've never done commentfic before, so we'll see how this works out
It scares him. He leaves.
She finds him a week later, and he knows Frank and Jamia had something to do with it, because three nights ago Gerard had come home with some Xanax and a few bottles of Patron, and Gerard doesn't even like Patron but he'd been willing to try it for the sake of . . . he doesn't know. He hadn't taken anything, hadn't tried it, just sort of stared at it. But Frank had seen him, and screamed himself raw at how fucking stupid Gerard was, and Gerard had taken it. Jamia had been quiet, because she hadn't been there and felt she had no right. But then Frank had started crying, angry tears that he'd swiped at with his fingers, and Oh, it's on, nobody fucks with her mate, she may be a new werewolf, but she took to it well, and then it's her turn, how dare he fuck up his life just when it was starting to turn around, how dare he be so selfish like that?
That's how he learns that Jamia and Lindsey are best friends. They'd set him up with her, wanted to just see him fucking happy, wanted to maybe help him overcome this, and get better, and fall in love - except for how it didn't fucking work. Except for how it maybe did.
His voice is quiet, tiny, ashamed when he says it, and the anger leaves both of them. Frank takes the Patron and dumps it down the sink. Jamia takes the untouched Xanax and flushes it down the toilet. Then they bodily force Gerard into the shower and they take him out, and Lindsey's there, and Gerard sees her first, sees her looking frustrated and scared under that beautiful, strong facade, and then she sees him, and she lights up so brightly he thinks that maybe he'd go blind, if it wasn't so beautiful.
No one had told Gerard a werewolf could mate to two people. He'd learned the hard way that two werewolves could mate to one person. He'd learned the hard way that he could survive the loss - barely. But he'd had no idea that if he waited, if he tried, he could find another mate, a new mate - a mate better suited to him, and not to Mikey. He wonders if his uncle would still be alive if he'd known, or if he was too human to allow himself to try again.
He and Lindsey make love that night. Frank goes to Jamia's so they can have the privacy. It doesn't feel like rushing, even though he barely knows her. He has the rest of their lives to learn everything there is to know.
He'd forgotten what real happiness feels like.

Oh, so lovely. Love how Frank saved Gerard, and then Jamia saves him again with Lindsey. This was an awesome set of stories, bb.
