This chapter came out well... I think the insight into Boomer's thoughts and feeling is particularly effective. She's such a mystery throughout the series, so it's great to see the depth of character you've given her here! I'll look forward to reading the next part.
It means a lot to read you say that. There are so many mysteries that are left regarding Sharon and Cavil, and I wish TPTB would have given us some insight into what sparked their relationship. I always thought Cavil might have been drawn to Sharon because she did something he's always wanted to do - defy the programming (--> Season One) The fact that Boomer found the water, something she was programmed against, must have appealed to him in a fundamental way, being a "mechanic" who is trapped by what the previous Centurions and the Final Five made him into.

Yeah, I could definitely see that. The very fact that she could vote against her model was probably intriguing to him.
I think they were both sort of outsiders as well, so perhaps they naturally gravitated toward each other. Everyone else was going "God wants us to come to New Caprica! This is going to be great, I'm sure the humans will be so excited to see us!", and Cavil and Boomer were both in the corner thinking "um, no they won't... what the frak is wrong with you people?" I can see how they might have ended up commiserating together, especially after Demand Love fell apart.
