Cute and Creepiness
Fiiinally read the latest OP chapter so be preoared for some image-heavy ramblings
Hatchan x Camie = Oda's new ship.
You'd have to be blind not to see this. The seeds were planted waaay back during Hatchan's original cover arc. It was subtle but it was there.
Camie looking sad/concerned and is the one to console him after his heart is broken. Talk about 80's teen movie syndrome.
A physical closeness that you rarely see between men and women in One Piece. (Not to mention, "AWWW")
All very good to nurse a little HatchiexCamie seedling but still nothing concrete. Now skip ahead; out of the cover arc and into the main storyline.

It's love. Or at the very least a serious crush. It seems one-sided at the moment but hopefully with time Hatchan will open his eyes and realize what a cute, fun, devoted and utterly precious mermaid he has right in front of him instead of chasing after manipulative octopussy. Then there's this:
God damn they are so cute.
Speaking of cute, I find it terribly amusing (and a bit insightful) that in Hatchie's flashback panel we can see the outline of a LIL' ARLONG.

On a less endearing note, the chapter 499 also put forth some of the most disurbing and disgusting scenes I ever thought I'd see in One Piece. Yeah I'm talking about THIS:

I wonder how the people who hated Absalom (who is a kitten in comparison) feel about this guy. And by getting "tired" we know just what he means..
Sex slaves. Holy crap.
I'm pretty shocked Oda actually showed this. It's the type of seedy business I NEVER thought I'd see in One Piece. Very subtly hinted at maybe, but not outright shown. But then, the series has been becoming increasingly sexual, ever since Ennies Lobby's catfight. And though I suspect Eneru having had a similar arangement with his serving girls, nothing I imagined could ever compare to this. Talk about being degraded, dehumanization, public humiliation, WTFCHAINS and having to.. 'serivce' that slimey bastard.
I have a nagging feeling that Nami and Robin are also going to end up being "courted". Or at least Nami. She's like candy to the bad guys of the OP world (orange-flavoured no less!) Either way I'm pulling for a world of hurt coming to these guys in the ensuing chapters. (Though I doubt it'll be in ch500. We'll probably get something with Shanks or Whitebeard for that.)
I wanted to ramble a bit about the supernovas too, but that'll come in a separate entry.
