The Couve!
I am back in the Couve (that's Vancouver for all my New Mexican friends). It's been a long time since i've updated, and a lot has been going on. First of I graduated from UNM! Yes, no more dealing with the bureaucracy that is the University of New Mexico. However, I'm finding that the school I am going to graduate school for, Embry Riddle, is even worse at being incompetent (at least their financial aid office is).
My friends Ryan and Theresa got married last month, they are a real nice couple and I am glad for them. After that I drove back to Washington. Unfortuantely it would parallel a previous roadtrip. Two years ago when me and Drew drove to Albuquerque we couldn't find a hotel in the entire state of Nevada until we reached las vegas at 4 am. Well I couldn't find a hotel north of salt lake city until i reached Ogden at nearly 2 Am. But at least I found a place to stay and had a safe trip.
Unfortuantely it wasn't all happy occurances in the month of june. My grandpa died and we had his funeral about a week before Ryan and Theresa's wedding. I played Taps at the funeral, I didn't cry while I was playing but I cried when my sister played a song on her oboe later. It was a very emotional time even though we knew the day would come sooner or later.
I will be in Vancouver until next week when I head back to New Mexico to meet up with my KKY brothers before we head to National Convention in Orlando. It should be a lot of fun and give me a taste of Florida before I go to graduate school there in August. Later, I am out!
