When your source of entertainment for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night is video games you know that you don't have a social life. Although yesterday morning we did something really cool. It was Spring Storm yesterday, an event where all kinds of groups on campus get together to do various community service. For Kappa Kappa Psi we got to help out at a shelter for homeless families called Joy Junction. We worked with the Pi Beta Phi sorority and a couple other groups consisting of a couple each. One of the projects there was helping plant a garden and the other project was clearing furniture and other supplies out of an old schoolhouse and loading them in dumpsters to be hauled away. I worked on that project and it was definitely a lot of heavy lifting. My arms are definitely feeling the effects today. However, it was a lot of fun and a very worthwhile project as Joy Junction hopes to refurbish the building and use it as an education center for both kids and adults. After that was a barbeque for all the groups on campus that participated in the Spring Storm event. Well, I need to get laundry out of the dry and go to bed. Good night!
