Alternate image file This past week has been dreadful. Here's the deal: I've never had the chance to read a Harry Potter book without knowing what happens beforehand. I didn't get into actually reading the books until after I had seen the third movie, so I already knew what was going to happen in those. Somewhere along the way, something slipped from the other three in the series, so most of what happened wasn't a surprise when I read it. It was still entertaining, but lacking the shock value.
Enter book 7. I was so excited to finally get to read a Harry Potter book spoiler-free, especially the last one in the series. The final chapter! But lo! The internet meanders along, threatening my sanity! Reports of spoilers run rampant! Leaked books and photographed pages flood onto the scene, making me hide for cover to avoid seeing anything that might threaten my my one shot at enjoyment. I even lashed out at friends.
But now the book is in my hands, and all is well. As for the comic itself, I really like the way this one turned out. I tried some new stuff. In the past couple comics, I started using thicker lines, and upon comparing that linework to earlier linework, I didn't like it as much, so I reverted to thinner inking. Problem is, it takes longer to do. I'll get faster, I hope.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go read.
