Most of this is cringe-worthy but the wallpaper? Fabulous.
- I'm taking a class at CSU-Pueblo this semester. It's an introduction to thematic reading and, while my advisor suggested it, I definitely feel like it's stuff I already know. I've already done the literary research methods stuff at UNC and this feels more like
How to Read Literature Like a Professor. I registered late and hadn't read the assignment before my first day but had already dominated the discussion and my professor admitted after class that I did a great job and he looked forward to having me there. I don't want to be there but neither do I want to alienate my advisors after being readmitted. So, I'm going to crank out a brief paper tonight and see what the prof says. I'm going to try to keep in mind that maybe there's some other principle behind this class but, really, no.
- I've been watching the Star Wars Uncut project and the entire film would be terrifying on drugs.

- My SCA project this month a gambeson converted from a quilted blanket. A gambeson is a padded jacket worn beneath armor to absorb some of the blunt force impact and became popular in Europe around the 10th century. They're especially useful for stickjocks who have a delicate constitution, chaff easily, and dislike having their nipples pinched between plates of armor. Picture is forthcoming? I don't know. I try to limit myself to one major SCA project a month and I do a pretty good job of respecting my limits and budget. More complicated projects require more bells and whistles and this usually means more specialized tools that I don't have the organizational skills to keep from piling up on my computer desk. So there's that.
- I have rats again, a pair of girls named Diotima and Echolalia. I intended to name Diotima after Socrates' wife, Xanthippe, but she has a much sweeter disposition than that old shrew so I figured naming her after the wise woman at the Symposium was a better gamble. Echolalia was a harder rat to name because she's much more reclusive but warms up when being handled. She also chirps back at you if you're talking and I've never had a rat do that before. The dynamics of naming rats is a complicated and sacred affair.

Don't ask. I have this fascination, see.
