Back From the Wilderness

We had a great time at Waterton Lakes. All the deer in the area were in town mooching food from the few people who were there. We went for a hike up one of the trails, dodging around the bear poop. The wind was quite strong around the town site so we didn’t go along the beach much until the last day. It’s nice to get out in the country once in a while and just soak up nature. I’ll post some of the pictures when I get them scanned.
On the way back we stopped in at a place called “head smashed in buffalo jump”. The name kind of suggests what the Indians used to do there. They would chase the buffalo off this cliff, then go down, and butcher the dead ones at the bottom of the cliff.
