Her whole body ached from pain and exhaustion. Laurian had no idea how long it had been since the surprise attack, but it felt like eternity. She had lost all track of time or anything else; her world now consisted of this small, dark cell and a body that had been put through a lot of pain. If only they'd give her a while rest, so that her wounds could heal. But they never did that, and somehow her fast regeneration has been disabled. The wounds didn't heal, and they got worse after every time they came to get her.
Screams could be heard from further down the hallway, and somewhere else someone cackled maniacally. She'd been listening to it from the moment she woke up in this cell.
If only she could pass out, that'd make things easier. Or die, that'd be even more easy. If she died, she wouldn't have to deal with this anymore. "And what about me? Don't I matter anymore? You can't just give up like this."
She could almost hear Rei saying that to her. And Rei was right. She couldn't give in, she had to stay strong. "I'm sorry, Rei," Laurian whispered for the fact that such dark thoughts had crept into her mind. "I'm sorry. Please come and find me... Come quick... It's getting harder..."
Laurian looked up at sounds near her door. A moment later, it opened and a couple of guys came in to drag her towards the torture room. Laurian closed her eyes and kept her mind firmly on the image of Rei. She knew Rei would come to rescue her. She should be here soon...
