Actors needed!
Anyone out there want to act? In The Rocky Horror Commedia Show?
I really want this to succeed. It's commedia + Rocky Horror, something that's been in the works for years but only coming to fruition now. And after what's happened this year, I really really want this to work - not as a slight against the directors of Voyeuristic Intentions but so I can still have a great and refreshingly new Rocky moment this autumn.
However, we are running into hitches with a few actors. We don't have a Riff-Rella yet - the sociopathic, manipulative, twisted combination of the commedia Masks of Pulcinella and Brighella into the RHPS character of Riff-Raff. We might have a few options but nothing for sure and we're getting low on time. We also had to start running on the idea that we would write out the character of Arlecchino is playing Eddie. This would be sad for several levels - it takes out the character I mainly play, takes out Eddie (and thus his relationships with several other characters - Dr. Scott, Columbia, Rocky, and even Frank), and removes one of the servants of Capitano (Frank-n-Furter) and we already had some great bits for. Oh, and it forces me to play the amaroso, Virginio. This being an unmasked role in a style I really don't normally do (in commedia or Rocky Horror).
In addition to this, we can use as many Zanni as we can take. These will take the parts of the Transylvanians (Trannies) from RHPS. They pretty much just stand around in colorful costumes and masks and help flesh out party scenes, do some simple dancing (believe me - you can do this but I won't spoil the gag but telling you want) and hold some props. Easy for almost anyone to join in on.
Finally, there is some desire at swapping in and out or mixing up parts over our different nights - so we'd need more actors for that.
