two mornings ago we were walking around measuring out garden space and i noticed these funny little pinkish purple bunches on the manzanita branches, i looked closer and THEY WERE FLOWERS!! i have never seen the manzanita flowering before, so very pretty. this, along with warm breezes and sunshine means that spring is not too far away which makes me incredibly joyous
i mixed some sandy mulch with some compost this afternoon and planted the first seeds of the growing season, the plants which take longer to mature and develop. eighteen seeds each of red cabbage, savoy cabbage, broccoli, broccoli raab, brussel sprouts, fennel, cauliflower and red stalk celery. EXCIIIIITEMENT
looking at all the seed packets spread out on the table all i could think was FUTURE FOOOOOOD so excited
ALSO WE are doing all the gardens vegan!!
