The show last night, was just ... words cannot describe it. I got there around 7:30, and I was sad, because no one was there. The pit was really small.. but it was absolutely wonderful. Hoobastank came out, and did 10 songs... I was really pissed, because a lot of people were booing them, and these two fatasses in front of me kept screaming Velvet Revolver, G'n'R, and STP lyrics during their set. They would not shut up. I was happy though, because I had on my vintage Hoobustank shirt. Yes, with a "U"... That's from their SKA days, yes children, Hoobastank was once ska-ish. Hmm... I swear to god, Doug and Markku both saw my shirt. I saw them look at me and smile a few times, and I was like, "Score!" I just wish there had been a M&G. But they cancelled them all for the VR tour. But that was okay.. Because Hoobastank tours all the time. They've been touring nonstop for the past 3 years. First the Meteora Tour, then Mtv Campus Invasion, and now the Velvet Revolver Electric Wonderland Tour.

Anywho- on with my story. Hoobastank was really good.. We had a few mosh pits going.. of course.. everytime one started, it was directly behind me... and my mom kind of beat a couple up.. she pushes hard. ... That was awesome.

Hoobastank finished around 9 something.. and we had to wait an HOUR for them to set up for VR, and then it took forever for everyone to come out.

God, the lights turned out, and the crowd went WILD. It was amazing. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
The crowd was a bit wilder mosh-wise for VR. I had a 'protector' though. He was standing by me for Hoobastank, and then for VR he was behind me to my right, and when people started moshing, he put his arms out to the side to keep them from hitting me, I thought it was the nicest thing. I would get pushed into a few people quite a bit... but he would always ask me if I was okay. Especially with the crowdsurfers... I got kicked in the face on more than one occassion, and I got a few cuts on the back of my neck, but that only got more hyped. A few of these big guys around me kept starting moshpits, but the security guard always asked us who exactly started it, then they jumped the barricade, and pulled the guys out that were causing all of the shit. It was just amazing.

They had a few backdrops... the first of which was just a black curtain, which dropped to black with two women on it with the words ROCK AND FUCKING ROLL inbetween those two pictures. The crowd went crazy when we saw that... Later it was dropped, and became this:

They played a hell of a lot of songs, considering the fact they only have out one album... but they played some STP and G'n'R. I called Danny when they were playing Mr. Brownstone. I don't know if he heard it clearly, but oh well. Then it got quiet... and Slash came and stood right in front of me, and he started playing his guitar.. it was quiet, and just oh so beautiful... then Scott started to sing... "So, so you think you can tell..." Wish You Were Here... Pink Floyd, I was off the wall I was so excited. I was taken by Slash and the way he was playing, it was beautiful. Scott was sitting on a stool, with Duff and Slash on either side of him.... "We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl... year after year.." That one line has been echoing through my mind all night after the show, and still now.
It was beautiful, I tried to get a picture of Scott on his stool as the song was ending.. so I told Danny I would call him back.. well.. Scott got off his stool as I was taking the picture, and these lights came on full blast. here's the result:

I think it came out nicely.

Now.. at the end of the show, Scott throws his mic into the audience. I catch it. I was the happiest girl alive for less than 30 seconds, because than, all the people start to grab at it. I was like.. helll no. Then this crazy ass son of a bitch starts scratching at my arm, and BITING me to get the mic. He got it, and he ran off. I wanted to trip him, and then kick him in the balls. But look at it this way, I had my hand touching Scott's mic. That's enough to make me happy.

I don't know how to describe the rest of the show, it was just indescribable.. but I will leave you with an old quote from Duff McKagan in an article I have...
"It was like having really physical sex in an extremely hot sauna, with all the buildup and climax." (pic from the article>>>>)

And now... I think I'll just post a majority of the pictures I took.

Slash with his talkbox:

Duff: what a shexy beast... meow

Duff & Slash:

Scott... moment of silence...

Dave:.. before he fell behind Slash, then Duff went over and stood over him while he was laying on the floor, and played his guitar over him. A roadie had to help him up.

Slash:

Slash rippin' his guitar:

Scott... oh yes:

Oh oh ohhhhhhhh:

So soo beautiful:

Scott:

After the roadies set up Matt's drums: (it's small.. because I zoomed in and it effed up)

Duff:

My favorite Slash pic:

He had just put on his hat. The crowd went crazy. It was wonderful.

... Ready for more?

Well, that was my Friday night. Does it compare to yours?
