I've seen a few articles, lately, about people running in to trouble in US airports because they were overheard speaking in a foreign langauge, or wearing a t-shirt with writing in a foreign script This, to me, is a deeply distrubing level of paranoia. And if it keeps up, we're going to have to stop calling them "international" airports. I wonder if the TSA is going to release an approved languages chart.
I keep thinking of headlines like:
Police Thwart Attempt to Smuggle Plosives on to Plane
or
Authorities Suspect Weaponized Word Virus

Update: Here's a link to a Bruce Schneier article that came out after the liquid explosive scare. He makes the argument that our paranoia is what terrorists want, and that we're letting them have it.
