Job update... long I know.

Well last Friday I went out to Wag'n Tails and Waverly Vet Clinic to turn in my resume. By Friday night I had set up an interview with Waverly and by Saturday night I had set up one with Wag'n Tails. Both for Monday.

Wag'n Tails was first at 9am. The place is nice, the dogs seem happy, the owners/people are a little odd. It was a very informal interview, the boss Tom and I were sitting in the reception area talking as clients and their dogs we're walking in and out for boarding/grooming appointments. After a tour, he left me back with the groomers that were working so they could answer my questions. The only thing I really learned was that one of the girls "can't wear scented pads when she's bleeding." Those were the exact words too. Uh.. I mean that's good that you know that, but unless I really know you... I DON'T CARE. I left there knowing I'd get about the same pay as I did at Doggy Daycare, 50% of every dog. But I would get benefits if I was full time. The only downside is he can't even guarantee me part time for the next month and he wants me to do the mobile grooming van. Yuck!

Anyways, my interview at Waverly was at 2:30. I got there and was told that Beth the manager was out sick with the flu and they'd have to reschedule my interview. So I waited around to find out what time and then they decided I would just interview with the Vet himself (also the owner). BUT I had to wait because he was interviewing another girl first. Well that took all of 10 minutes so I was really nervous. Usually vets themselves are very short, to the point, no nonsense kind of people, but 10 minutes for an interview is a little short. Well to prove me wrong, he ended up being a very nice man, talked with me about how he taught the owner of Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology everything he knew. Then he gave me a big tour of the whole place, which is huge by the way, and then we talked some more about how business's should be run and what not (he did most of the talking). I spent a good 40 minutes in that interview. I really enjoy that place.

The downfall is because the manager was sick, and she delt with hiring/firing and pay rates and hours, he didn't know what she was looking for. So I left knowing nothing about the pay or if it's full/time part time. I knew it's wasn't a grooming job, but he did mention he was interested in getting a 2nd groomer in, but that's it, nothing definite.

Now I'm sitting here waiting for a call from either place. It's KILLING ME. I know I'd normally have Tuesday's off... but knowing that I'm not going to work tomorrow hurts. I know I hated the people, but I really miss Doggy Daycare and the dogs. I already miss Scary Monster Max barreling towards me, front paws jabbing into my stomach when I walked out into the gym on Fridays.

I'm honestly really hoping Waverly calls me back and says they can give me good hours/semi decent pay. Because once I got in, I could probably work my way into the grooming place. I also am thinking that I'm going to go to the Animal Behavior College and become a Certified Animal Trainer. It's a like 40 week program, but most of the initial schooling is done online, the last like 20 weeks is done hands on working at shelters and what not.

I'd go on, but I just scrolled up, sorry I didn't realize how long it was. Not that most of you probably read the whole thing. It just felt good to get out.
