Studying chemistry and biology, you begin to learn a lot about the science industries that have been irresponsible and created the public distrust of science that I hate so much. In 1984, a toxic gas called methyl isocyanate was released in an accident upon the town of Bhopal, India. Thousands of the town's inhabitants, many children, died from exposure, but the chemical company, Union Carbide Company, where the accident occurred, has denied that MIC is toxic and has not claimed responsibility for the deaths. Please, take a moment of your time to demand action. It seriously takes only a moment to copy the text from Amnesty International's sample letter and email it to the CEO of DOW Chemicals. If we annoy them enough, they'll realize that we know what happened and want them to fess up to it.
Thanks!
