I actually did stuff on my days off!! Kimi dragggggged me to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch basketball on Thurs at the CRACK of noon. Anytime Oklahoma loses is a good day for Aeisha i keed. i keed. kind of
Then Miss Stef came over! She's a cheerleading coach from NJ; met her through Steve years ago. Now that i think about it, the majority of my friends I met; or have at one time or another travelled to Disney with. Interesting. Place kinda just sucks you in. Anyway, we went shopping for furniture and I purchased my first grown up living room set! It's wicked comfy (
http://www.roomstogo.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=showRoom&roo_ID=2243)and matches most of the stuff i already have. I move into the new place in May and i absolutely LOVE the set up. The garage is on the first floor, then you walk up the stairs to the apartment....943 sq feet; which is just a touch smaller than where I'm currently living. You guys know how I love to decorate so I'm excited. Party at my new place in May!! or, you know, now, cuz there's not a whole lot to mess up Dropped Stef off (also, her teams won third and FIRST in the nation!! Congrats Stef!!!) then supposedly was going to take a nap, but you know how that goes.
Went to Cowboys that night. Cowboys......is special. It's off of the bad part of OBT, so didn't want to drive alone. (thanks Kimi!). We get there, and literally are surrounded by trucks and cowboy hats....spurs and dip. I think the Klan was about to meet. Saying i had second thoughts about going in is an understatement. But, i keep saying i have to get out of the rut, and try new stuff so in we went. It's really not a bad bar. Ended up having lots of fun. Only issue is that they didn't two-step there...it was mostly line dancing. Was a little disappointed, but there's always next time. We met Minna there, and i believe pictures were taken, but i never carry a camera so you'll have to ask them. OH! There was this guy there from Ohio state. he seemed to think he was special bc he plays linebacker for OSU. I reminded him that Texas kicked their butts last year. Apparently, Texas only won bc he wasn't playing. Tangent-->There's something to be said for being wrapped in someone's arms. My "space efficient" friends and I had this conversation this week...we all tend to be attracted to bigger guys....6 feet and "more to love." Being so small and enveloped by someone much bigger creates a comfort zone...a (false?) sense of safety. It just feels nice to be wrapped in someone's arms. Which has absolutely nothing to do with sex. Just knowing that someone is there when you reach out, so if you need a hug, there's one ready and available. Okay, and a ready/available/willing make out partner has its merits too. They can be our protectors (although, most of us are feisty on our own, and they'd be protecting us from the people we challenged to box/pissed off ) but also make us feel special when they confide in us...granted this had nothing to do with OSU dude....he was just a dance partner. /end tangent. He also seemed to think that him being a football player would impress me. Darlin, the team that just won the national championship? That's my seniour recruiting class. You couldn't even nut up and suit up for the game. I felt sorry for him and bought him a drink. Apparently that meant he had permission to stick his tongue in my ear. The urge to vomit came over me and the tried and true method of going to the bathroom to ditch a guy ALMOST worked. This boy met us halfway back from the bar and PATTED MY HEAD. That is one of the things on Earth that irriates the HELL out of me. I am not a dog. I sure attract the winners, huh. :-P
Friday, got up early bc dude was coming hook up the internet, and stepped on a piece of glass. Why was there glass in the living room?!! bandaid didn't quite cut it, so went to Centracare. Apparently, you're supposed to have a tetnus shot every 10 years. I didn't get that memo. So 6 hours, 1 shot, 1 painkiller, and 4 xrays later i got home. no glass left in the foot, but cut very deep. no work til monday. woke up saturday....couldn't feel right side of body. well, let me rephrase. Felt like a 400lb man was sitting on my right arm (don't ask me how i know how that feels) and i couldn't life it...and if i tried; sharp, shooting pains. then same sharp, shooting pains up right leg. Called around for help...tried girls first bc let's face it ladies you don't look your best when half your body is rebelling against you. and haven't showered/brushed teeth yet that day. got ahold of Meagan (thank you!!!!) who sent over Ship...and Boat. =P. Boat checked me out (he's a medical student) and found some enflamed nodes.....had a fever for the rest of the days. Because I had two Ships on my bed? I guess we'll never know Ship even got me water in my UT National Championship glass...i'm sure that was painful for him, but brought a smile to my face. Sarah also called and changed my days off, so this week I have Monday and Thursday. Which was great of her, bc for some reason, i've been getting sick a lot, and i don't want to eat up all my sick time; just in case. Going to a real doctor, not centracare (which my sister informed me is just there to determine if you need to go to the emergency room...they're not REALLY looking for causes to medical problems) later on this week.
Good news? For 2 weeks next month, i have THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS off!!! Which i am THRILLED about. I've worked here for.....basically 6 years in June, and i've never been given thursday or friday as a day off. I'd like to thank Sarah, for always having my back. I'd like to warn Diana, Kimi, and Minna, bc there's some serious celebrating to be done, and you should prepare now. I'd also like to thank Gina. Gina, I think I love you. You know why. Soft-open is this week. we'll see how that goes. I think we're all walking on eggshells and holding our breath....just waiting. cautious optimism. We're all on call this week. Should be verrryy interesting.
