Woot! So I just looked at my bank account and I've paid off my credit card! There's 58 dollars on it that have been spent but that is all just from my netflix (which I'll be cancelling wens) and my gym membership (which I'll be swtiching to my debit card account when I can get my mom to go down there with me). I will take care of that out of my next paycheck if it's enough (and it should be).
Also I only have a couple more payments on my car and it's officially mine. This makes me INCERDIBLY proud of myself. It's the first "big" thing I've bought. It's 5 years later and I have not missed a single payment. I feel behind a couple days once but that was all. I'd say that's a really huge accomplishment for a 24year old. :) It also means i can finally lower my car insurance :D yahoo on that account! No more 450 dollar a month car insurance bill!!!! :D I'm likely going to pay my car bill off early because that should help my credit. I have to figure out how to get my title for it and everything from them.
Last December when I started working again I sat down and looked at all my bills and set myself a path to better financial handling. I told myself that I would start putting $100 on my credit card EACH paycheck as well as a little bit into my special savings account. I told myself I would not touch that savings account until it hit 2,000 unless it was a real emergency and so far I haven't. This is a BIG deal to me as I've never saved for more than this laptop and even then I dug into it occasionally!
I'm very, very proud of myself. Doing this gives me more pride than the weight loss I've accomplished in the last 5 months now. :)
I have plans in my head of what I'd like to be doing soon and while I'm a little scared I'm looking forward to moving forward from this point. It's amazing what I can do when I really just sit down and tell myself "ok this is what we're gonna do" and then stick to it!
