Christmas 2011

Dec 23, 2011 18:37

Well here we are again, we are ready and all the family will be together for the first time in several years. My parents are elderly, my Dad suffers from COPD but is otherwise always too active. My Mom is in the final stage of Alzheimer and is now confined to an hospital facility. We will celebrate Christmas with her, we will have a catered lunch with several family members present.

We are not doing any gifts this year, no one really wants anything and in fact we have been giving away quite a few items, sold others, etc... downsizing all around.
On the 27th we will have several friends over to the house and have a post-Xmas lunch. No plans so far for New Year's Eve. No one seems in the spirit of it. We know that 2012 will bring more budget restraint at the Federal Government level, Canada is in a very good position compared to all other G-8 countries but here the philosophy is spend nothing and cut everywhere. Let's enjoy while the good time lasts.

Best Wishes to everyone for Christmas.
