I think in any situation like that they'd rush a body like that into A&E to try to save the faller, they wouldn't assume him dead. And standing on the hospital grounds, they're not going to wait for *anything* if they have a chance to get him early into surgery. I just can't consider that he might have survived that, with his face (at the very least) entirely unscathed.
That said, we have potentially a three year gap while Holmes recovers from his 'fall' and makes it safe enough for him to return. He could be quite easily *very* broken.
I agree it was definitely him falling, and fallen. (Terribly so. Upsettingly so.) I think perhaps I'm just getting too used to Leverage doing that to us - it used to be something that annoyed me so much about that fandom.
I do think a rewatch is essential - I find the first watch through I'm spending all my time trying to keep up with the dialogue, and the second time I see the plot unfolding, and the third time I get to watch those phenomenal actors and the way their faces/bodies/expressions change. I'm just not fast enough to take it all in on the first go through! :D
