So...

I'm going to start this by apologising to jendavis and then cutting because I have been a Mac user since I was seven (probably before, but I only had a computer in my home from then.)

It was an SE30:

and I loved it because it was MAGIC and it had screensavers, which were even more magic because they ran on their own. The best thing? I still have that SE30 (and another one I saved from being junked) and they both still run. Perfectly. They're almost as fast as current computers, because they have hardly anything to their OS.

I have used Macs since then, and followed Steve Jobs as my little geek-leader, and while I'm sad to say that the hype of 'Apple' brand everything has damaged their image slightly, I have loved the work that Jobs has done with that company. I love that he persisted when Macs were the amusing graphic design-geek-only third cousin, and when they started to get successful and fired him, that he created something so great that Apple then bought out his new company - effectively rehiring him. And then he went on to make BEAUTIFUL THINGS. Just because... computers should be beautiful.

So. Yeah, that's it. :) Sorry to anyone who's heard too much of this already today. I am now going to go and educate myself on Rev. Shuttlesworth.

things which are wonderful, sad geek is sad
