"Are you sure about this?" Eliot looked out across the odd spread on the kitchen table, then up at Nate.
Nate just smiled, "Of course."
"It might not be pretty." He reached out to check the date on the epipen, and then did the same with the inhaler next to it.
"I don't care," Nate replied dismissively. "This is for you."
Eliot stared longingly at the pie cooling on the wrack next to the oven. "It's just so…"
"You don't have to find excuses. This is alright with me." Nate offered him the knife out of the block and gestured at the pie. "I'm right here, I know how to use these, and I know the number for the emergency services."
"You'll tell them I had no idea there were peanuts in it?" Eliot asked warily.
"I baked it myself and I didn't tell you what was in it, I had no clue you were allergic." Nate recited.
"If I did it right there won't be enough actual peanut in there to need a hospital. Don't jump the gun, alright?" Eliot took the knife off him, staring down the pie.
"For God's sake, Eliot. Just eat the pie already." Nate grinned. "I want to get on with the nursing you back to health."
"You're a freak." Eliot retorted, and cut himself a slice of pie.
