I am so upset right now. Actually, upset doesn't describe what I am. I'm pissed. Beyond belief. I went to the Interdisciplinary Studies office in November and changed my major. I had no idea what I was doing so the peer adviser helped me. I picked Hospitality Management as my required minor and then picked Arts and Eduction as my subject areas of study. She gave me a list of all the Education courses I could take that would count and then gave me a prefix list of the Arts courses. She said that I could take any course with those prefixes. So I registered for some classes and they started last week. I paid for my classes and paid for all of my books, which totaled out to be $536. Great. Classes started and I went and I'm enjoying them.
Well, today I had a thought. Why does Club Management count as sector studies for a major but not for the minor? So, I went online to my degree audit to check my minor. Well, turns out it doesn't count on the minor as listed, but I'm still going to check that out. But, regardless, that's not the point. The point is, I checked my major degree audit. And what did I see? "Not all courses count toward Interdisciplinary Studies." OK, fine. But, what is listed under those courses? Yeah, that's right, two of the courses I'm taking. Of course it's the two Arts courses and of course it's the two that have the most expensive books. That I can't return anymore. Oh, and add/drop is over. I can't get my money back for tuition either.
I'm so livid. I'm glad that my adviser told me it didn't matter what the class was. Now they are telling me that those two classes don't count. Um, hi. I registered according to my adviser. I want my 6 credit hours to count. I want to graduate in December. Dammit!
