Sweet and Sour

Aug 25, 2011 15:37

Today I woke wishing for rain and a day spent sleeping in my sweet and sour dreams.
sheet-tangled feet
pillow-puffed hair
breaths mattress-deep

A day spent wading in oblivion--
belly down
wings spread
head turned to one cheek

Yet here I sit
72 degrees
dim-lit lobby
goosebump knees
"How may I help you?"
"One moment please,
the copy machine is talking
and it's telling me to leave."

But you know,
my legs wouldn't even know where to go.
At least here they are crossed and closed.

shame-free
stress, relieved
undercover smile-talk to put me at ease

Back from lunch, it's raining--
I'm too awake to dream.
