I'm am sitting at my computer in my jury dress drinking my wellness tea and FREAKING OUT. Hence, I must update to rid myself of emotion before I go to sleep. I want this week to be over. Thursday morning is my jury and I still need to find a black shrug or something to go with my dress. Funny how I am not nervous for the actual singing part. I'm ready for that I think. I wish I could dress myself for important events like a normal person.
Okay, so if Thursday goes well, I still will be constantly hyperventilating because Friday morning I have to take my 2 hour theory final, then I have my piano proficiency where I have to be able to play every Major and harmonic minor scale (that's 24 scales), do a bunch of harmonizations and transpose them, play 2 repertoire pieces, 3 patriotic songs, happy birthday with my own beautiful added accompaniment, and an open score reading. Eep. But I've been living in practice rooms more than my dorm for the past month of my life so I'd like to think I'm prepared. But once that's over the madness will not stop. Oh no...then I have my conducting final where I have to conduct 2 pieces for all of the conducting faculty. Oh when will the fun end...not then that's for sure. Saturday morning I get to wake up and do a conducting audition for Youth Chorale! Youth Chorale is the audition Westminster high school choir and I am auditioning to be the soprano intern next year, meaning I would get to work with the choir and conduct some pieces and sing with them. And if I get it, rumor is I get to go to Brazil next summer. Now THAT would be fun! But I have to conduct this really hard piece that my theory teacher from last semester composed...it switches meter like that's it's job...blah.. Then I have to conduct another piece which I should be really expressive for...so I'll aim for that...when is summer coming?!
Hmm so after that morning dose of stress if over, Student Government is sponsoring Spring Fling outside the dorms! Finally some real fun. So it's a big carnival/fair type thing in which all the organizations sponsor a table or two. Our freshman board is doing Paint-a-Pot, where people can come paint terra cotta pots and plant seeds in them. So being the great president and secretary that we are, Ben and I went and bought all the supplies last week and we are set! P.S. I got re-elected for next year. Yay.
So that's life. It's time for sleeping so Lauren doesn't get sick from stress. Leave me love. I love Tator Tots and can't wait for the days when Jelly Bean and Tator Tot can skitter off to the beach and enjoy other fun summer extravaganzas. *sigh*
