suddenly... a brass band
This evening, I saw a group of people dressed in bells and feathers, playing brass instruments on the street and in restaurants. Then I saw another colorfully dressed group of people trying to drown out the first group's rendition of "Hit the Road, Jack" with Caribbean steel drums. (Note that only one person in the latter group looked plausibly Caribbean... most were definitely Swiss.)
And then on the tram heading home, a middle aged woman wearing a Medieval fool's outfit boarded the tram -- I noticed her entrance because of the jingling as she sat down -- and proceeded to demonstrate that she was drunk out of her mind as she chatted up the driver (who asked her please to step back behind the line).
I'm sure there was a reason for all of this, but I haven't the energy to figure out what it was right now. Maybe someone at work tomorrow will know.
Or perhaps all the people at work who would know will be home with hangovers.
