Below is a list of my favorite episodes from Season Two of "OUTLANDER", STARZ's adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's 1992 novel, "Dragonfly in Amber". Developed by Ronald D. Moore, the series stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan:
FIVE FAVORITE EPISODES OF "OUTLANDER" SEASON TWO (2016)
1. (2.12) "The Hail Mary" - As Scottish landowner Jamie Fraser puts all of his efforts into turning the Jacobite army away from the impending slaughter at Culloden Moor at the hands of the British Army, his wife time traveler Claire Randall/Fraser attempts to comfort the sick Alex Randall, younger brother of their nemesis Captain Jack Randall.
2. (2.01) "Through a Glass, Darkly" - After returning to the 1940s, Claire finds herself recall her 18th century experiences when she, Jamie and his godfather/companion Murtagh Fraser arrived in Paris, France after fleeing Scotland.
3. (2.09) "Je Suis Prest" - Jamie trains his militia for the upcoming Jacobite Rising before joining the Highlander forces. Claire gives him full disclosure on what little she knows about Scotland's fate during in the Rising.
4. (2.02) "Not in Scotland Anymore" - Claire and Jamie plan to infiltrate France's Royal Court to disrupt Jacobite Rebellion. Jamie is forced to deal with Prince Charlie Stuart in one of Paris' brothels.
5. (2.13) "Dragonfly in Amber" - Jamie forces Claire to return to the future before the Battle of Culloden. In 1968, Claire and her daughter Briana Randall meet historian Roger "Wakefield" MacKenzie and have a reckoning regarding the identity of the latter's father.
