by Kelly Carlin, 2015.
It's hard to believe it's been 8 years since Carlin passed away. His only child, daughter Kelly, writes an amazing book about her father's and mother's lives, and hers within it, from his early days as a child to his early career and his later career--and, of course, the substance abuse (of both her parents and herself), recovery (for all of them at one stage or another), her parents' passing, and her own growth from someone who struggled to find herself to someone who now helps others.
Having read this book, I come away with a picture of Carlin as a family man whose time on stage took him away from his wife & child for days & weeks at a time. She truly loved her daddy, and he truly loved them. The photos of them at different times of their lives was also fascinating. Definitely worth picking up.
