Apparently, 'excellent communication skills' are what is needed to get a job in this town.
Or, at least, get a job in the sort of areas I have been aiming for at the moment. Perhaps I should cut my losses and go for something slightly different. The Jobcentre people suggested that I started applying for jobs further afield as well as 'unskilled' work, or posts which provide training. Fair enough. Would probably beat attempting to demonstrate to potential employers (and convince myself) that I possess aforementioned skills.
You could say I'm hardly motivated at the moment. Haven't touched my fiction in weeks, either.
