Woman dies in single car crash

A WOMAN in her 20s is dead after her car veered off a road in Thomastown in Melbourne's north and hit a pole early today.
The woman's car was travelling east along Settlement Road near Temple Avenue when her car struck a power pole about 5.30am (AEDT).
She was the sole occupant of the car and died at the scene, police said.
The name of the woman has not yet been released.
Her death brings Victoria's road toll to 70, the same number for the same period last year.
