(no subject)
I got in an accident yesterday on my way back to boone. This isn't the news, the news is that I got in an accident with a turkey buzzard.
It was crawling across the road to eat some roadkill which was in between the two lanes of traffic. I was in the right lane, so i moved a little towards the side of the road so, if it took a step in my lane, i wouldn't hit it. It all of a sudden took flight, flying into my lane. I turned the wheel to the left so i could clear the bird, letting it cross over my lane; if i had to hit the bird, it would have glanced off of the side of my car, and I would have hopefully only stunned or injured the bird. Just as it was about to clear my lane, it turned to fly right towards me and slammed right into my car with a loud thud.
It was maybe the size of my golden retriever (who is small for his breed). it was a big ass buzzard.
I won't describe the bird besides that it exploded, and upon looking in the rearview mirror, i saw a huge cloud of feathers.
I pulled off of the interstate to check out my car, and I guess I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
The thing to keep in mind here is that it is a BIRD that did this. A bird.
That's an explanation of what happened.
Also not marked on there is that the latch that locks down my hood is broken.
And my right headlight? Completely fine. Doesn't make sense.
There's my hood not being able to lay flat... it lays perfectly flat on the left side.
That's my grill that I'm holding in my hand.
Please notice broken edges along the entire top edge.
So I guess that's it, I had to take pictures for my mom / family / insurance company. We're not filing a claim, but just in case we have to (doubtful) you have to file within a certain time period afterwards. My brother is going to fix everything.
