bpal stuff: chaste moon & bptp anniversary decant circle!
05/23 update: Almost all pending packages for this circle went into the mailbox yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, I don't think they got out in time for Saturday pickup, so I think they officially go into the mailstream Monday morning. The medium flat rate boxes don't fit in the mailbox, so I will be dropping those off at the post office tomorrow.
This circle was big and complicated to start with, and the repeated backorders and such really added to that, so PLEASE let me know if I got any of your orders wrong once you receive them. I triple-checked everything but am still not as confident as I usually am :( Thanks so much everyone!
05/20 @ 10pm update: I am absolutely thrilled and relieved to announce that everything pending for this circle has now been decanted. I am hard at work to get it all packaged and in the mailbox. Also, there seems to be a batch variation with the second round of Xmvlzencab oils I received--these ones seem to have no honey layer at the bottom. They smell the same, though (at least to my nose).
05/18 update: I came home from my wedding weekend today, too exhausted to hardly move. The decants that I fervently hoped to ship out last week, have still not shipped. I ended up needing pretty much every single minute (up until it was time to get dressed on the morning of the wedding) to finish sewing my wedding dress, finish making favors, pick people up at the airport, etc. I really apologize for the wait--I tried to keep people informed as best I could, but honestly, the last week has been the craziest of my entire life and I haven't even been online since Wednesday.
The good news is that I received the rest of the bottles for this circle today. I will be sending shipping refunds to those who paid me extra for earlier shipping. Thanks so much to everyone for your patience! Although this is totally out of my hands, I still feel really bad that y'all have had to wait so long. I've dealt with backorders from the Post before, but this is definitely the longest. And FYI, Puddin is definitely NOT taking the LE bath oils down yet, despite a planned takedown on April 30th. In fact, he says he is thinking about just making them general catalog after all.
04/29 update: I received the second package from the Post today. The good news is that nearly everything is now here, and I can start decanting tomorrow, and plan on sending out all completed orders within a week. The bad news is that there are still a few backordered things (or rather, some newly backordered things) that have not arrived, namely: Mahogany Hall, Gertrude Dix's, 1 bar each of Port Royal and Xmvlzencab soaps, all the Embalming Fluid soap, and 2 bottles of Xmvlzencab oil.
A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE SOAPS: I haven't tried any of mine yet, but just from slicing them, I really recommend that you let them sit in a nice dry place and cure some more--especially the Snake Oil and Xmvlzencab. I found both of them to be really soft, and in the latter's case, crumbly too. In fact, although I've never had a problem with soaps breaking in the mail before, I can't 100% guarantee that your Xmvlzencab will arrive in one piece, just due to the crumblyness. They were all in one piece as of shipment, though. I have a feeling curing was a little rushed with these, compared to Villainess' normal times, due to the unexpected demand. Also, although Port Royal was described as having a thick crust of salt, I'd call it more of a sprinkling, and nearly all of it fell off immediately after the bars were unwrapped. I salvaged what I could, but please don't be surprised if your bar has no salt on top!
A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE BATH OILS: More than any other BPTP bath oils I've decanted, Snake Oil and Xmvlzencab had a a tendancy to separate into different layers. I worked hard to keep them mixed while I was decanting, so everyone should have a relatively equal amount of the different layers, but I highly recommend blending them up again before each use. Specifically, Snake Oil has dark and light oil layers, and Xmvlzencab has real honey in it that settles to the bottom. You can't really see the honey layer in the bottle, but here's a tip: when properly blended, Xmvlzencab should be opaque, not clear!
The order from the Lab was placed on 02/28 and received 03/25.
The first order from the Post was placed on 03/01 and (mostly) received on 04/14.
The second order from the Post was placed on 03/03 and (mostly) received on 04/29.
The rest of the items from the first and second orders arrived on 05/18.
All BPAL-only packages were mailed on 03/31.
The next round of packages went out on 04/20.
Fine Print:
NOTE: Please be aware that the turnaround for the Lab and the Post, from when the order is placed to when I receive it, can be in excess of a month. It can take me anywhere from 1-10 days (maybe more if it's a really big circle) to get them decanted and shipped. I do my very best to get decants sent out with time to spare, but nevertheless, I cannot 100% guarantee that they'll arrive in time to sniff and order from the Lab/Post.
SHIPPING: Shipping within the US or Canada for this circle will be $2.25 for a up-to-1oz package and $0.25 extra for every ounce thereafter, up to 10oz for the US or 8oz for Canada. After that I'll have to look it up for ya. 8 imps = 1oz, 1 5mL = .9oz, 1oz bottle = 1.5 oz, 2oz bottle = 2.5oz, 1 bar soap = 4oz. Packages over about 11oz ship via Priority, which starts at $5.50 for a small flat rate box. I'll do delivery confirmation (only available in the US) for free, but only if you ask. PACKAGING: I use Lab-sized vials. I use strong sturdy cobalt or clear plastic bottles for bath oils and sprays. Sprays come with atomizers and bath oils with flip-tops. I wrap my soap in plastic wrap to keep it nice and dry. Although I use recycled materials whenever possible, I generally use brand-new bubble mailers for convenience on my end. I'd really appreciate it if you could try and reuse the mailers you get from me for future swaps or other mailing needs. All of your stuff will be wrapped in more padding too.
LABELS: I use Lab-sized imp labels. I handwrite the name of the scent on one end and "BPAL" on the other end. I try to make my labels both attractive and functional.
FREEBIES: I almost always include freebies with my packages unless I'm totally out of anything. Feel free to request an empty bottle from this circle, but please be aware that unless I'm ordering multiple bottles of that scent, I can't 100% guarantee you'll get it, and I won't know for sure until I've finished decanting. (The spaces for that bottle might not fill, or I might end up needing to keep it for myself.) If you order a bottle and a decant from that bottle, I will send the decant in the bottle unless you request otherwise.

Thanks so much to everyone for your patience! Although this is totally out of my hands, I still feel really bad that y'all have had to wait so long. I've dealt with backorders from the Post before, but this is definitely the longest. And FYI, Puddin is definitely NOT taking the LE bath oils down yet, despite a planned takedown on April 30th. In fact, he says he is thinking about just making them general catalog after all.
04/29 update: I received the second package from the Post today. The good news is that nearly everything is now here, and I can start decanting tomorrow, and plan on sending out all completed orders within a week. The bad news is that there are still a few backordered things (or rather, some newly backordered things) that have not arrived, namely: Mahogany Hall, Gertrude Dix's, 1 bar each of Port Royal and Xmvlzencab soaps, all the Embalming Fluid soap, and 2 bottles of Xmvlzencab oil.
A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE SOAPS: I haven't tried any of mine yet, but just from slicing them, I really recommend that you let them sit in a nice dry place and cure some more--especially the Snake Oil and Xmvlzencab. I found both of them to be really soft, and in the latter's case, crumbly too. In fact, although I've never had a problem with soaps breaking in the mail before, I can't 100% guarantee that your Xmvlzencab will arrive in one piece, just due to the crumblyness. They were all in one piece as of shipment, though. I have a feeling curing was a little rushed with these, compared to Villainess' normal times, due to the unexpected demand. Also, although Port Royal was described as having a thick crust of salt, I'd call it more of a sprinkling, and nearly all of it fell off immediately after the bars were unwrapped. I salvaged what I could, but please don't be surprised if your bar has no salt on top!
A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE BATH OILS: More than any other BPTP bath oils I've decanted, Snake Oil and Xmvlzencab had a a tendancy to separate into different layers. I worked hard to keep them mixed while I was decanting, so everyone should have a relatively equal amount of the different layers, but I highly recommend blending them up again before each use. Specifically, Snake Oil has dark and light oil layers, and Xmvlzencab has real honey in it that settles to the bottom. You can't really see the honey layer in the bottle, but here's a tip: when properly blended, Xmvlzencab should be opaque, not clear!
The order from the Lab was placed on 02/28 and received 03/25.
The first order from the Post was placed on 03/01 and (mostly) received on 04/14.
The second order from the Post was placed on 03/03 and (mostly) received on 04/29.
The rest of the items from the first and second orders arrived on 05/18.
All BPAL-only packages were mailed on 03/31.
The next round of packages went out on 04/20.
Fine Print:
NOTE: Please be aware that the turnaround for the Lab and the Post, from when the order is placed to when I receive it, can be in excess of a month. It can take me anywhere from 1-10 days (maybe more if it's a really big circle) to get them decanted and shipped. I do my very best to get decants sent out with time to spare, but nevertheless, I cannot 100% guarantee that they'll arrive in time to sniff and order from the Lab/Post.
SHIPPING: Shipping within the US or Canada for this circle will be $2.25 for a up-to-1oz package and $0.25 extra for every ounce thereafter, up to 10oz for the US or 8oz for Canada. After that I'll have to look it up for ya. 8 imps = 1oz, 1 5mL = .9oz, 1oz bottle = 1.5 oz, 2oz bottle = 2.5oz, 1 bar soap = 4oz. Packages over about 11oz ship via Priority, which starts at $5.50 for a small flat rate box. I'll do delivery confirmation (only available in the US) for free, but only if you ask. PACKAGING: I use Lab-sized vials. I use strong sturdy cobalt or clear plastic bottles for bath oils and sprays. Sprays come with atomizers and bath oils with flip-tops. I wrap my soap in plastic wrap to keep it nice and dry. Although I use recycled materials whenever possible, I generally use brand-new bubble mailers for convenience on my end. I'd really appreciate it if you could try and reuse the mailers you get from me for future swaps or other mailing needs. All of your stuff will be wrapped in more padding too.
LABELS: I use Lab-sized imp labels. I handwrite the name of the scent on one end and "BPAL" on the other end. I try to make my labels both attractive and functional.
FREEBIES: I almost always include freebies with my packages unless I'm totally out of anything. Feel free to request an empty bottle from this circle, but please be aware that unless I'm ordering multiple bottles of that scent, I can't 100% guarantee you'll get it, and I won't know for sure until I've finished decanting. (The spaces for that bottle might not fill, or I might end up needing to keep it for myself.) If you order a bottle and a decant from that bottle, I will send the decant in the bottle unless you request otherwise.
