I KNOW! I've been forced to admit that they've totally usurped Zelgadis/Amelia (whom I still love) as my favorite couple.

So true! I think why many are drawn to the xellos/filia pairing is because it can go in any direction. It can be a tragic love due to xellos being a mazoku, it's a forbidden love because of their warring races, they have the best comedy dynamic in slayers when their around each other. The teasing aspect when xellos is in his genki-trickster mode can offer some light-hearted cuteness. There are endless possibilities with this pair!
