I've been strongly considering abandoning my extremely vague plans of letting my future Englishy degree take me to a variety of P.R., technical writing, and copy writing type stuff until the dream comes true and I can actually make my living off writing. Well, I can tell you that if your program is anything like mine you'll be in for an exhausting, but incredibly interesting trip. If you're passionate about it, great, it's a rewarding experience.

...I just hope the job market in your area is better than here.

I've been told that there's a lot of positions open a bit down state. Where I am right now is apparently a really prime location that everyone wants to teach in, so there's probably not much luck there though.

Well, I suppose if you're willing to move around that's not too much of a problem. I lucked out in the sense that there's nothing keeping me from moving out of Province or even overseas to find a job. Except, you know, nerves.

Do you work with kids much now? I mean like on a volunteer basis or something

Unfortunately I don't, at least not with the age group I'd really like to work with. My Mom is a preschool teacher so I do a little volunteering with the five year olds, but that's about it.

This is creepy. This makes you.....the fifth? Sixth? person that is closer to me that is/was interested in a teaching career. I'M SURROUNDED BY TEACHER WANNABES. XD

I hope to be an elementry teacher myself. <3
