1. Why do you dislike #11 so much? (Yusuke x Kuwabara)
I’ll be honest. This one really “ew”’s me out. I really tend to dislike “best-friend” ships in the first place and these two are honestly so like brothers. I love their friendship, but it actually turns my stomach to see a romantic implication. Not due to the yaoi factor or anything but SERIOUSLY. They have perhaps my favorite friendship in all of anime. >.> To give some contrast, I’m probably less bothered by Kurama x Hiei than this.
2. Who do you know that ships #13 (Xellos x Sylphiel)
Er…well, no one really. It was a favorable alternative to the canonish Xellos x Filia that Jenn and I were discussing one day. It’s an odd one for me to even consider ‘cause I don’t really go for those ‘they never met’ sort of things. But if they did meet they’d make a pretty funny couple and I like both characters. I’m not saying I’d support it, but it is an idea.
3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3? (Doumeki x Watanuki)
Now, now. I’m not the scenario considerin’ type. If you want that you can head over to doujinshis or fanfiction. Me, I have no romance in my soul. Or at least very little encrusted on the bottom of it. I kinda like the status quo, though I would welcome something more *cough* overt.
4. What’s your favorite moment for #1? (Gourry x Lina)
The one that immediately jumps to mind is the end of Slayers: Next when Gourry chases after the Lord of Nightmares until he can bring Lina back and then they share a kiss THAT THEY BOTH FORGET. That was so pretty. Also probably my favorite anime ending.
5. How long have you been following #6? (Kain x Millie)
Pretty much since I first started watching the show. I wondered whether signs would point to Canal or Millie, and I suppose fans can debate that…but I liked Millie more first off anyway. She’s very sincere about her feelings. Besides, she’s probably the only one who thinks Kain’s cool XD
6. What’s the story with #8? What made you stop caring? (Yusuke x Koto)
‘Cause it was a dumb little idea I considered for a short period of time. Just because I like Koto somewhat more than Keiko doesn’t mean that she and Yusuke would make a good couple.
7. Which ship do you prefer---#2 or #4? (Zelgadis x Amelia or Kurogane x Fai)
AHA. Testing me by forcing me to choose between my OTP and sweet, sweet guy love?! I see how it is. I love both, but I’m going to have to go with Zelgadis x Amelia. I have so much love for the two characters and I think they make a wonderful couple.
8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12? (Kurama x Hiei or Zelgadis x Lina)
Gosh. One’s been a thorn in my side for FOREVER and the other has been annoying me more recently. I’m going with Kurama x Hiei though because I am just so damn sick of that one and it’s EVERYWHERE STILL. Sure, I can argue against it, but that doesn’t bring me any joy. I regard Zelgadis x Lina as a somewhat silly move by the fan-base. It bugs me, but not as much as Kurama x Hiei (Also, don’t even think of switching these names around. You’ll just make me worse.)
9. What interests you about #14? (Chrono x Rosette)
The ending of Chrono Crusade was really pretty. I could feel the love. Could you?!
10. When did you stop liking #7? (Hiei x Shizuru)
It was pretty much the same as the Yusuke x Koto thing. It was a passing sentiment based on a lame joke. It doesn’t really work, but I held onto it for a bit longer. Sure, Shizuru is one of those people who wouldn’t take Hiei’s crap and that’s important, but I think the main reason I held onto it was because I wanted to shove it into people’s face as an alternative to Kurama x Hiei. Once I realized that this did not work, I lost interest in it and for good reason.
11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series? (Bakura x Serenity)
Well, my interest in both is all but dead, but I think the shipping died first. It was really superficial as I’d barely seen any episodes with Serenity in ‘em. God, that was so long ago. I think my rationale was that they were both quiet people? Genius.
12. What’s a song that reminds you of #5? (Vash x Meryl)
Wow. To be honest, I have no idea. I’ve never really thought about that…URG. I have no idea!
13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
I’m probably most into Doumeki x Watanuki right now since I’m actually reading xxxHOLiC and watching the anime.
14. Which do you dislike the most?
Well, Yusuke x Kuwabara causes the worst reaction in me, but I don’t really see it as much as Kurama x Hiei. Kurama x Hiei bothers me, as I’ve mentioned, but there’s also the feeling like: I’ve fought this fight before. I’ve already put forth my arguments and I’m soooooo sick of this. Just make it go away. So I’ll pick that.
15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
Gourry x Lina and Zelgadis x Amelia practically live their lives on a double date, not that they’d see it that way. I’d probably like them separate. Gourry x Lina and Kain x Millie could either be cute and funny or devolve into a gigantic fight depending on how Lina and Millie’s personalities would interact. I’m going to go with the Clamptastic one and say Doumeki x Watanuki and Kurogane x Fai. I’m trying real hard not to feel a little bit shallow right now.
16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes. (Zelgadis x Amelia)
No, damn it! LINA AND GOURRY HAVE KISSED, (even if they don’t remember it) SHOULDN’T YOU GUYS BE MORE MATURE THAN THEM???! C’MON!! Sigh. I think Amelia kind thought it was going to happen during the Halcyform thing. But it turned out Zel had a serious expression and was walking toward her because there was an enemy behind her or something. GET YOUR ACTS TOGETHER YOU GUYS. Zel, I’m mostly lookin’ at you.
17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely? (Kurogane x Fai)
Not ended yet. Here’s my jaded Clamp take. If the ending is happy, they won’t end up together. If anything remotely related to sharing feelings occurs, at least one of them will die shortly after.
18. What would make you start shipping #14? (Chrono x Rosette)
It’s not that I have any problem with it…I’m just not usually very energetic about shipping. Plus there’s that bittersweet element to it. It’s hard to get excited over that. I guess the anime could possibly make me ship it if it’s really good. I haven’t seen it.
19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer---#2 or #6? (Zelgadis x Amelia or Kain x Mille)
I do like Kain x Millie, but I am (occasionally at least) overflowing with love for Zel x Amelia.
20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?
It never happens, just like it never did! Also, I’m in the story and Kurama dates ME. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. SUCK IT, BITCHES!!! I guess there would have to be some overt sign that it never happened/is never goin’ happen. Like perhaps Kurama saying that he didn’t like Hiei that way. OH WAIT. HE DID THAT AT THE END OF THE MAKAI SAGA.
