Writing Plans for the Next Couple of Months
So, I was a little under the weather for awhile and I'm just kinda getting back on my feet and trying to get into my writing groove. So in the meantime I've been making some plans for how I want to spend the next couple of months and, since they involve information about fanfiction updates, I wanted to share them here.
My three priorities up through November are:
1. Finish my entry for a poetry contest
I'm not wild about poetry, but I told myself I'd give more contests a go. I'm running out of time on this one and it might wind up being sacrificed, but I'm trying to get it done.
2. Finish my Halloween Slayers oneshot
It's currently titled "A Stray Child" (though that may change after I've finished it). It's likely going to wind up not being particularly comedic, unlike my past Halloween oneshots that at least had some element of comedy, but I'm really excited about this concept and looking forward to working with it more. It's most likely going to be longer that "Masquerade" was, and that's (I think) my longest oneshot to date, so even with the advance work I've done on it, it might take a bit of a crunch to get it done for Halloween. Still, I'm gonna push for it.
3. Participate in NaNoWriMo
I've actually never done it and I think it would be really good for me right now. I'm planning to work with a fairly new concept for me (as opposed to something I've worked on in the past that has more baggage attached to it), so I also want to do some significant planning before then. I'm kinda trying to take it easy on this one--not agonize over everything to the point where I wind up not writing, but instead push forward and see where the story takes me. NaNoWriMo seems like it'll be good for what I'm trying to achieve.
...All that essentially means that, aside from the Halloween oneshot, I'm going to be pretty busy on non-Fanfiction writing up through November and that I don't have plans to work on new Diary chapters or Summer Nights oneshots in the near future. Now, that doesn't mean that there definitely won't be updates. If I want a palate-cleanser from the other stuff I'm working on or if I'm just feeling extra productive, something might come out for those. But generally this all means not to necessarily expect it. Nevertheless, the Halloween oneshot is on the horizon and I hope y'all will end up liking it. Just a heads up on how I see the next couple months working out :)
