Fanfiction vs. Dark Lord Laptop
Y'know, it seems to be a fact about me on the internet--whether I'm writing in here or on twitter or somewhere else. When something actually interesting is happen to me, I neglect to write about it, but when next to nothing is going on, you can't shut me up. I guess that's the case here since I've let writing in here lag awhile... I have been DOING THINGS. I've just not been writing here X_x
I guess the main things going on right now are my fanfiction and the slow implosion that is my computer, so I'll write about that.
I really intended on writing 3 things for Halloween this October. 1. A Slayers Halloween oneshot. 2. Another chapter of Possession and 3. A gothic-horror themed Pokemon oneshot (because, yeah, that's appropriate. It's pretty much taken until now for me to do number 1. Masquerade is up and running, which doesn't have a huge amount of movie-themed fun like Night of the Living Dead did, but takes some inspiration from John Carpenter's The Thing, which I've watched this month. It ended up being much longer than I expected it would be. I think it's my longest fanfiction oneshot to date actually (Not at all Seduced is longer, but of course that wound up being a Twoshot).
As for the other two priorities--I'm fairly confident I can get the next chapter of Possession up before the month is out. But as for that weird oneshot (which actually occupied most of my attention for the first part of the month when I really should've been thinking about Masquerade), I'm pretty sure it'll end up knocked to November. Horror can still exist in November, right? November can be spooky!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this push has happened. My computer's been making it difficult for me to get stuff done. I'm not going to get into all the details of its slowness or its unreliability... but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if it just quit working altogether any day now. Which is kind of nerve-wracking for me trying to make sure that everything gets backed up. My Dad's done a bunch of stuff to it that's made it run a bit less slow, but the major problems still persist. I don't have much confidence in keeping this thing on life support... but dealing with getting another computer... well, that's a whole 'nother headache.
So! Much to do, evil computer making that difficult--but I shall fight on! ...I think that's about it for anything that's remotely recent... Oh, 'cept for the fact that I voted early today. The line was actually much longer than last year... in that there was actually a line. But I got my 'I Voted Today' sticker and that's what really matters, right? Right.
