Discrimination in NC
I'm sorry to say that North Carolina has now joined the southern states of the US of A and written discrimination into our State constitution. And we've gone farther and said that marriage being between only a man and woman is the only LEGAL UNION that will be recognized, so those who are not married will end up losing benefits and such as will our gays and lesbians. I am ashamed of our state. Very ashamed.
Funny thing is that those who wrote this shameful amendment say that in 20 years that the tide will swing the "other way" and it will probably be discarded. What those people mean is that in 20 years the younger and more anti-discrimination crowd will be in a position to do what should have been done yesterday and take hate and bigotry out of our state.
