well guess what

i'm happy to say that there is a johnny depp look-a-like in gainesville. we found him at the library. lol yesss you. after the JD incident i watched the break dancers in Turlington. i really wanted someone to call me right then and ask what i was doing so i could say "i'm in turlington watching break dancers"- an unexpected response.

ok well i'm supposed to be studying for new testament. i have a test friday. and i would feel really guilty if i failed a test on the Bible because thats actually something worth learning. i will start soon.

lets see.. what else happened? oh, lana and i had some good quotes from second graders that we help teach. their assignment was to complete the following sentence- "If I had $100, I would...". sounds innocent enough. but no, here are some of the responses we got:
Kid 1: Buy a Hummer
Kid 2: Buy a mansion and the Friday After Next dvd
Kid 3: Buy Baby Boy movie
Kid 4 (in response to Kid 3): eww, Baby Boy! thats a nasstaay movie!
Kid 5 (Kobe): I would buy some girlfriends!
Teacher (in response to Kid 5): Now, Kobe, that ain't practical! If you have to buy a girlfriend, she ain't worth keepin'.

HAHAHAH. ok thats not all. After that they were supposed to make as many words as they could from ONE HUNDRED. then i was supposed to write down their responses on the board. again, here's what they happend to come up with:
Kid raises hand: "Horney"
Me: uh there's no "y" in ONE HUNDRED
Another kid: "Hoe" followed by snickering

WOW i can now say that i have seen firsthand the effects of MTV on a generation.
well thats all for now... more quotes from the second grade are likely to come. peace out
