Thanks! When I thought of the Cally-Kelly switch, I got REALLY pissed that they killed Cally, because I really think it works better. Especially with Galen. (I actually started thinking the writers' conversation went:

(ooh. Sam Adama. Sorry. Drooling.)

Ahem.

Writer#1: Who should we use to turn this around?

Writer#2: Too bad we killed Cally. She would have been perfect.

Writer#1: Yeah, Cally. Cally... Cally... wait- didn't we have another Cally?

Writer#2: Huh? No, I don't think so.

Writer#1: Not CALLY, obviously. But the name was similar. Ty Olessan played him.

Writer#2: Oh, KELLY! Hey, yeah! That would work!

Thanks :)

Swapping Cally for Kelly was a really neat twist, but I think my favorite part was the toast at the last ladies' night. It's a great scene in and of itself, and I love that it acknowledges a lot of characters' faults and good points in ways we don't see very often.

And this--
To Doc Cottle, who should run the world.

YES. :)

The ending was powerful, too. Seeing the mutiny from Cally's perspective drives home how badly Adama screwed up by completely brushing the mutiny under the rug, and then the little touch with the photo finished it off on a lovely bittersweet note.

But pretending it had never happened… it meant everything- all the sacrifice, all the death- it was for nothing. And the people who had followed Gaeta had followed him for a reason. Not just because Earth was a wasteland, but because they thought Gaeta was right. And none of that mattered.

But it should. She didn't expect Gaeta's goals to be met, but just that someone would question. That someone would ask what made people like Gaeta, like Racetrack, like her snap and feel like this was their only recourse. But no one was asking, and soon, it would be forgotten.

This exactly was what infuriated me by the lack of follow up after the mutiny arc. Because, really they should have asked why would loyal honorable people decided to mutiny - and believe that they had no other recourse.

I cried all over again.

Thanks. Yeah, there was a little meta in there, I would say ;) ::grumbles about Adama again.::

Thanks so much!

Aw, Cally... awwww, everyone. :(

(Sorry, no brains tonight! Maybe lengthier feedback next chapter? Or, uh... in April, when real life eases up a tiny bit?)

To Doc Cottle, who should run the world. Frak yeah!

:( Not looking like much of a happy ending at this point.

Thanks!

Well, it's BSG :) But this is probably the low point of the fic.
