Yep, glad I got that kleenex. As soon as you had Hoshi wanting kids, I had a suspicion that this would be the story where you'd switch Dee and Hoshi. It works really, really well, but oh boy, it hurts.

On the other hand, I was very, very happy that the ladies' table at Joe's existed and was getting together again after Earth. I remember watching "The Ties That Bind" how horrible I felt for Cally when she was walking down the corridor to the launch tube with Nicky when it hit me that she had absolutely no one she could talk to: she couldn't trust Tyrol, Jammer and Socinus dead, Seelix a pilot and gone on a mission... Galactica had always been a "family," and yet she was so oppressively alone. I'm glad she has people in this world.

It was so interesting to see Earth's discovery from this angle, particularly the aftermath and Cally having to tell everyone who was left out of the loop. I also liked seeing how well Danielle handled it, showing that not everybody had pinned all their hopes on Earth.

But yeah, I'm still sniffling over Hoshi. :(

Thanks.

Yup. This is the one. It actually hurt me to write that suicide scene. (Although it was a little better than trying to do Dee's, which I couldn't do at all.)

That really hit me, too, how alone Cally was. I don't know if was intentional on their part or not, but I felt for her. By season 4.0, so many people seemed so alone. I really missed the family vibe. I know they couldn't stay a family after NC, but I think they could have healed a little better... plus, women friendships just didn't seem to exist. :P

Thanks!
