The Champion Of The Yard

Gus-Guss, my cat, has never harmed a flea. He is the most pleasant being on the earth and to top it off he's orange, fluffy and adorable. Everyone always thinks they have the best pet, but I truly believe that I do.Since Frisco passed away, Gus-Guss has been lonely and a bit sad. So, collectively we bought him a bird feeder and he started to watch the birds. Little by little his pep and spunk returned to him.

About a month ago the neighbors' cat, Clarice began to hide in our yard in the bush and jump out and attack/eat the birds at the feeder. Gus became sad once again that his birds weren't come, and then became angry at Clarice for eating all of them.

This afternoon Gus was by the door and he was crying as if he wanted to go outside. So I didn't tbink anything of it, and opened it. When I did the neighbors cat' was in my yard sitting on my steps. Gus darted after her, chasing her up the block and tackling her. Once on top of her he began swatting her head. I quickly ran to pick them apart, as I did Gus continued to beat up the other cat. When I picked him up, he still glared at her as I carried him back to my house. I looked back and the other cat was uninjured, just layed there in total shock and amazement. I took Gus inside and as soon as I put him down, he was yelling he wanted back out to go for Round 2.

He has never sat in my front window watching the bird feeder more proud. And Clarice? She'll never be seen around these parts again.
