I would like to apologize to those who think I’ve been avoiding you, and to those who I should have met up with at social gatherings. The past month and a bit has been very busy and very hard on me. I’ve nicknamed this past time as The Nightmare before Christmas and New Years Horror.
To give you a taste, the first week of the New Year, on move in day I was woken 2 hours before I planed to, because no one told me that I was needed for the tests of the fire system. I spent the day with fire alarms going off in my ears for 6 hours. I went 3 hour before I could eat anything. Fire testing went on for the rest of the week.
But to make things interesting a water main broke right beside the grad building. With the solution for getting water back to the buildings, fire hydrant and fire hoses attached to our water system, both buildings were under a fire watch. A fire watch means a build must be check for anything that might indicate or lead to a fire at lest once every 4 hours. No more sleeping the night through for me.
To finish off the week, both buildings were flooded. The grad building has a leak that flooded the basement during the thaw. And a mistake was made when reconnecting us to the city water. Inches of water in Bunker, Boiler room, Kitchen, Servery, Caf, and sunken, after only 15 mins. That took a long time to clean up.
WHAT A WEEK!!!!
