[fanmix/fst] fourth hokage: the illusionist
This FST contains spoilers for the most recent chapters (365-370) of the Naruto manga series. (Names, personalities, histories, etc)
This in response to challenge addressed to me in the...last week of the dead characters theme. ^^; And by an anonymous, so please come foward because as tricky as this was, I was so happy to do it!
So, the Fourth Hokage was the one who sealed the horrible Nine-Tails demon away, the powerful legend who sacrificed his life for his village, mentor to the great Copy Nin, yadda yadda yadda. Ninjas who heard this guy was coming ran away in the opposite direction screaming for their mommies. And yet when you see him in Kakashi's flashback, he's rather...unassuming (right there you know Naruto's probably like his mother, lol). This FST was particularly tricky because aside from knowing his name Kishomoto doesn't give us much. But the little dialogue he does give about Minato (Tsunade correcting Jiraiya on how Minato was not the brash, loud parent), and the few scenes he's in, I see a man laid back like Kakashi, and also...someone depressed, a little sad, jaded. Withdrawn and keeping people distant with his kindness and professionalism, kind of like Kakashi who probably learned that from him.
There's some instrumental but don't worry, they're all less than one minute and really help connect the songs in between.
I know it's redundant, but it's kind of important that you at least try to listen to these in order. It's exactly 53.3 minutes.

Since we don't know exactly when Kushina and Minato fell in love, but there is no doubt in my fanon mind Naruto's parents were as crazy about each other as they could be, and in this I think he needed her loudness to drag him out of his moods (*coughcoughSasuNarucoughcough*) and only Minato would find her brashness endearing...and get away with calling her "my darling dear" without getting punched through a wall.
